Doesn’t have to be Apple, it’s just a laptop for gaming. And anyone who knows of the Symlink method, is it required/necessary to do it to open the game from the external hard drive in general? And for the game to run smoothly?Īs for the second option, less complicated but definitely more expensive especially if I’m looking for 1TB minimum of hard drive storage. If I should go this route, what affordable external hard drives are good for a 2017 Macbook Air, preferably 1TB minimum of storage to fit all my mods and cc? I know I probably don’t have 1TB of cc/mods, but I go on sprees often so it’s just in case. Even with research, I still don’t know what exact external hard drives are good/compatible with my model specifically, and I keep seeing something about the “Symlink method” when it comes to being able to play with an external hard drive, and just reading it over alone made me anxious. The first option is definitely a less expensive route, but it’s more complicated for me personally. I’m thinking of either installing Origin and the Sims 4 onto an external hard drive, or just buying a separate laptop for gaming and installing Origin and Sims there then transferring everything else. I can’t make space as it’s my mods and cc in my iCloud Drive taking up like 90% of the system in my laptop (not an actual estimate). So, like every other Apple user, I don’t have enough storage in my hard drive.
